Finding Sambani Lodge - location:

Set on a breathtaking strip of beach along the Malawian lakeshore, Sambani Lodge is the perfect destination for travellers wanting to unwind and relax in this this secluded lodge. Set 2km off the coastal road that runs from Nkhata Bay to Nkhotakhota (turning at the southern-most edge of Chintheche town and just after Malaza village), this is a surprisingly unspoilt retreat, and it offers guests a taste of something slightly off the beaten track.

Directions to Sambani Lodge

Sambani Lodge is a family run resort, small enough to give you the personal touch that will greatly enhance your visit to Lake Malawi. Our attentive staff are on hand to ensure your stay is thoroughly enjoyable.

Directions from Mzuzu:

Sambani Lodge is approximately 60 Miles from Mzuzu. Take the Nkhata Bay road, and then the main turn-off towards Nkhotakota/Salima/Lilongwe. This is the M5. Once you enter Chintheche town, the turning to Sambani Lodge is signposted about 3km further, on the left.

You can also get a minibus from the minibus stop by Mzuzu market. Ensure you double check that it is going to the right place (i.e. continuing past Chintheche), and get off at the Malaza bus stop.

Directions from Lilongwe:

Leave Lilongwe on the main road heading to Salima or Nkhotakota. (Note the Nkhotakota road can be treacherous in the rainy season). From Salima take the lakeside road North through Benga, Nkhotakhota and Dwangwa. Chintetche is just after Malaza town, so when you pass the Chintetche sign, look out on your right for the signpost to Sambani Lodge, which is a further 2km down a track to the lake.

Directions from Blantyre:

From Blantyre, head on the Zomba road, through Zomba, Liwonde, Balaka. When you get to Ntcheu, take the turning for Chipoka and Salima.

From Salima take the lakeside road North through Benga, Nkhotakhota and Dwangwa. Chintetche is the next major town you will come to so when you pass the Chintetche township sign, look out on your right for the signpost to Sambani Lodge, which is a further 2km down a track to the lake.
